5 Unique Celebrities Wedding Dresses
The wedding day is one of the most special days in a woman’s life. It’s the day we often dream about since childhood, the end of the beginning of a wonderful romance. It therefore makes sense to want the wedding ceremony to reflect your personality and tastes, and what way to better make a statement than wearing a unique wedding dress?
This also applies to celebrities who, although used to be in the spotlight, use this special occasion to express themselves by wearing beautiful wedding dress choices from unique designer creations.
Let’s take a look at some of the wedding dress choices of celebrity brides-to-be the past few years!
Gwen Stefani’s pink and white silk gown, 2002
Gwen Stefani, No doubt’s lead singer, married Gavin Rossdale in 2002. For the special event, she chose a custom-made John Galliano gown, which she wore with a lace veil. The asymmetric dress, white silk and pinkish sprayed hues, represented a combination between traditional and “forward”, much like the personality of the singer/fashion designer.
The dress is presently exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Decorative Arts Museum in London so, in case you plan on travelling there, you shouldn’t miss seeing it.
Pink’s white dress, 2006
After proposing to Carey Hart, the two married in January 2006 on a Costa Rican beach. Her wedding dress choice was a Moniqu Lhuillier creation, which some would consider unorthodox. The dress featured a lot of satin ruffles, which gave the dress, together with the black a black waistband and a long, very elegant, black ribbon, a very distinct look, completely in line with Pink’s non-conformism.
The two separated since, but are now living together again. We look forward to another wedding ceremony. Perhaps we’ll have the chance to see Pink wearing another outstanding creation.
Milla Jovovich’s sheath gown, 2009
In 2009, Milla Jovovich tied the knots with director Paul Anderson. She wore, for this special day, a sheath gown, creation of Temperley London.
The dress was floor length and the model, while simple, was very elegant, and combined white silk satin with a gold draped V-neckline. Milla accessorized this dress with a lovely gold headpiece and a short tulle veil. Overall, the outfit, as well as her flowing hair braided with small, gold flowers, gave her a tasteful hippie look, which we think really flattered her figure.
Kate Middleton’s lace embroidered gown, 2011
It was probably the most expected wedding of 2011. Over 2 billion people watched it, and being a Royal wedding, nothing could be less than extraordinary.
The wedding was amazing, and the bride’s wedding dress was no exception! This wonderful Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen creation literally took our breath away.
The dress was an embroidered lace, floor length gown, which the royal bride accessorized with an ivory tulle veil.
The original dress was on display at the Buckingham Palace between July and October 2011.
